Casting powder forms a good lubricating layer on the surface of the mold that prevents the solidifying metal from sticking to the mold.

Casting powder increases the quality of the produced metal surface. Also, by covering the surface of the molten steel, it prevents the oxidation of the molten surface by preventing oxygen from entering the atmosphere.
