Sprouting agent One of the mechanisms of simultaneous increase of strength and toughness in casting parts is the fine graining of the casting part during the production process with the help of sprouting agents.

For a solid element inside the melt to play the role of nucleating;

First: it must maintain its tiny solid shape at the melting temperature so that the suitable place for germination is not homogeneous;

Secondly: it has a good wetting angle with the melt, because if the respective melt does not wet that particle instead of the nucleating agent having an effective role in improving the mechanical properties by fine granulation, It can act as an inclusion and by forming a crack around the inclusion, it can cause a severe drop in the properties and performance of the cast piece.

On the other hand, the germinating particle must have a suitable shape (spherical, angular) and size to be able to play an effective role in microgranulation.
